Legend: Arthurian Tarot & A Keeper of Words
by Anna-Marie Ferguson Illustrated by Anna-Marie Ferguson
A deck of impeccable beauty....the Artists' eye for capturing the spirit of a "legend" while maintaining tarot symbolism is impressive....this book is an invaluable resource and also wonderful reading! Highly recommended....
The overall design of this deck is lovely....its a very "people friendly" deck and will not tend to put off folks who are not knowledgeable of the tarot....I highly recommend it...
Legend: The Arthurian Tarot is a new release from Llewellyn by Anna-Marie Ferguson which incorporates traditional Tarot symbolism with Pagan symbolism of the Celts and Grail quest. One of the rare decks where the artist also wrote the accompanying guide that comes in the kit, you can tell this is inspired work, and I'm not even an Arthurian legend fan! Lush, deep images. Highly recommended.
Rating: Excellent! Every season now new twists on the tarot become available. In this new edition the Arthurian grail cycle is invoked to add a new twist and some considerable symbolic depth to the classic arcana, major and minor.
This was my very first deck, and I am now totally spoiled for any other!
I have been reading tarot for 19 years. I switched to this deck recently and am currently studying them in depth. New readers will be overcome by their beauty, practiced readers will find not only charm but symbolism that will spark new and creative thoughts for them.
The book Keeper of Words is not only a book which meticulously explains the symbolism of each card but a story book as well. I would bring the book to bed with me at night; and then curled in my nice big bed. I can honestly recommend this book to everyone. Enjoy and be prepared to be fascinated!
Legend: the Arthurian Tarot makes a valuable addition to any tarot reader's collection, and is also great for those interested in the "romantic fantasy" of the Middle Ages.
Ms. Ferguson has thoroughly researched both the Taro and the Arthurian legends, and with her explanations, the two seem almost made for each other. Her book is well organized for reference use, but still kept my attention read cover to cover
